Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is a non-surgical alternative treatment that combines isolated pressure and muscle release with the goal of alleviating pain. Trigger spots cause tenderness in other areas of the body, and they are painful when they’re compressed. Once trigger points are massaged or released, distress is alleviated.

There are several different techniques that target the release of trigger points. They include chiropractic, dry needling, and massage therapy. No matter the technique, the patient plays an active role by practicing proper breathing and by identifying the exact location of the affliction.

Whether for managing stress or discomfort, frequent trigger point therapy can be very beneficial in treating a variety of different conditions, including:

  • Headache
  • Temporomandibular joint pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Low back pain
  • Heel pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Sciatica
  • Parkinson’s disease

Through repeat massage or chiropractic visits, trigger point therapy is an effective non-surgical treatment option that can provide lasting release from chronic pain and discomfort.
